Well, we are now picture locked and proceeding at a fast, though occasionally bumpy, rate towards our May deadline for delivery of the film.
Shacked up with our friends at Ascent Media - purveyors of the finest lattes this side of Wardour Street - we are overseeing several specialist teams working on the VFX (the excellent Tinpot), music (the incomparable Matthew Herbert), sound (the incredible Chris and co), grade (the effortlessly elegant Marie). With post supervisor Alistair Hopkins and producer Amy Gardner making sure we keep to schedule and budget, we are well supported and so very nearly there.
It feels odd to be honest. The end is so near in sight - we've finished working with editor Sam Sneade at Speade after a brilliant, difficult and hilarious bongo and guitar playing year together; we've raised the final piece of finance which has involved a lot of paperwork and last-minute begging phone calls; we're now doing interviews with the press and got our accreditation for Cannes - and we're just exhausted. Where there should be jubilation is just shared small smiles, deep breaths and the desire to go away somewhere far away for a month!
